WiFi Network Name (SSID) and Password Setup

• An SSID (service set identifier) is a sequence of characters that create a unique name for a wireless network
   
• SSIDs differentiate one wireless LAN from another, so all access points and all devices attempting to connect to a specific wireless LAN must use the same SSID
   
• An SSID is also called a network name
   
• The steps in this article are predicated upon a physical hard-wired connection

All steps are to be completed with a web browser

1. Open any web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge etc) and type the equipment address in the device address bar:

3. You are prompted for a username and password.   Find the username/password below for each device.
    

   WiFi connected device - if no login prompt appears, check the available WiFi networks in device settings and try again
   Preferred connection - use a hard-wired (Ethernet) computer

5. Click on Menu then Wireless
    
6. In the Service Set Identifier (SSID) box, place a name or number that will most easily be remembered and recognized 
    
   • These could be names such as Dad's Internet or Tiffany's Network
      
7. A WPA2 Password Field appears in this same section, populate an appropriate password.
    
8. If a New Channel drop-down box is present, select auto
    
9. Click Apply
