Closed Caption Information for TiVo and IPTV

TiVo Boxes

• Turn Closed Captioning On / Off while Watching TV
   
  • 4K 6 Tuners, 6 Tuners , 4K Minis, and Minis on TiVo Experience 4
     
    1. From live TV, press the  i  button on the remote control
        
    2. Turn on Closed Caption
        
    3. Press the OK button on the remote control to toggle the closed caption feature between on and off
        
    4. Closed Captioning settings are changed for all channels
       
        
• Set Closed Captioning Preferences Through TiVo Menu
   
  • 4K 6 Tuners, 6 Tuners , 4K Minis, and Minis on TiVo Experience 4
     
    • TiVo Home | left arrow to Menu | Settings | Accessibility | Closed Caption Preferences  (see steps)
       
  • 4 Tuners, 2 Tuners, S1ingle Tuners, and Minis on TiVo Experience 3
     
    • TiVo Central | Settings & Messages | Settings | Displays| Closed Captioning (see steps)
      
       
• Standard TiVo Closed Captioning Options
   
  • Standard Captions: default setting is CC1 (English on English-based channels, and Spanish on Spanish-based channels)
    • CC2 - CC4 may carry other languages, determined by the broadcaster
       
    • Digital Captions: default setting is DTVCC1 (English on English-based channels, and Spanish on Spanish-based channels)
       
      • DTVCC2 - DTVCC6  may carry other languages, determined by the broadcaster
         
    • Other Closed Captioning Options include
       
      • Font |  Text Size, Style, Color and Opacity | Background Color and Opacity | Container Color and Opacity
         

IPTV Devices

• For both models SEI eSTREAM PYXIX 4K and Amino ANDSTRM (eStream4K)
  :
  • Go to TiVo Home | left arrow to Menu | Settings | Accessibility | Closed Captioning (see steps)
     
  • Closed Captions is the first option listed. Press the OK button to turn this feature ON then press the back button
     
  • Amino ANDSTRM (eStream4K) Alternate Method:
     
    1. While in Live TV or in TiVo Home Press the Accessibility Option () on the remote (lower left corner)
        
    2. Closed Captions is the second option listed.  Press the OK button to turn this feature ON then press the back button
        
    3. To Turn off Closed Captions:
        
       •  While in Live TV or in TiVo Home Press the Accessibility Option () on the remote (lower left corner)
          
       • Closed Captions is the second option listed.  Press the OK button to turn this feature OFF then press the back button
          

TiVo Stream 4K Devices

1. From the main screen, scroll to the top and to the right to the settings icon (gear)
    
2. In the Settings menu, go to Device Preferences | Accessibility | Captions (see steps)
    
3. Toggle Display to on or off as needed
    
4. Other options are available such as Language, Text Size, and Caption Style (the colors of the captions)
