Normally your TiVo S6A Remote will be paired with your TiVo Android TV device during initial setup. The signals run on BlueTooth technology and will work through walls, around corners, etc.
If your remote can already control the Android TV device, then it is paired. If the remote is not paired with the device:
Please note: Only one remote can be paired with one Android Box at a time. If you are using a replacement remote and have the original, you need to Unpair the original, then pair it to the Android Box using the steps below:
Press and hold TiVo. While holding down TiVo, press Back. Hold both for approximately 3 seconds. The activity indicator lights up red and stays on
Press VOLUME DOWN 3 times and then press and release the OK button
The activity indicator will flash red 3 times, indicating that the remote is now reset and not paired. If this is your original remote, remove the batteries so that it does not automatically pair to the equipment again. If this is your new remote, continue below
You'll notice it still works in IR (infrared) mode, but you can't use voice commands and the remote must be in the direct sight of the IPTV box. The remote must be paired.
To pair the remote back to the IPTV box:
Place or hold your remote no more than 2 feet from the IPTV box
Your remote indicator light starts flashing amber; this means it's trying to communicate with the IPTV box
The IPTV box should automatically pair the remote. If unsuccessful, Reboot the android device using the reset button under the equipment and use the steps above if you need to.
The TiVo S6A Remote works with the TiVo Android TV device to automatically configure TV and AV devices.
To control your equipment, be sure to do the following:
Point the remote at the equipment when using it, making sure that there is a clear line of sight. Your TV should program automatically
The Activity light on the remote should blink with each keypress. If not, try replacing the batteries
You can do this with your audio device as well
Alternately, if the remote does not automatically program the TV, you can use the manual method:
TiVo Home | left arrow to Menu | Settings | Remote Settings

This article uses some
terms that might be unfamiliar. Read through this list of terms and definitions if you need
clarification:
IR mode: In infrared (IR) mode, the
remote relies on a direct line of sight to control the DVR via infrared signals. The
remote is
set in IR mode when you take it out of the box. IR mode does not require the remote to be paired
to a specific DVR. In this mode, the remote will work with ANY of our TiVos.
RF mode: In radio frequency (RF)
mode, the remote does not require a direct line of sight. Rather, the remote can control a DVR
anywhere within a radius of approximately 30 feet. To enter RF mode, you must pair the remote to
a specific DVR
Pairing mode: Supports two methods for pairing:
New Pairing mode:
The remote control that comes with
your 6 Tuner TiVo is already in New Pairing mode. This pairing mode allows you to pair the
DVR and remote control automatically by pressing any button on the remote control.
Allow Pairing mode: This pairing mode is for manually
adding a new remote control or transferring a remote control from one DVR to another. When you
put the remote control in Allow Pairing mode, it will pair with any available
6 Tuner TiVo that is accepting pairing requests within range.
Global Reset: The Global Reset function un-pairs the remote control from the paired DVR and
clears any other remote settings, such as IR codes for your TV or other A/V devices.
Remote activity indicator colors
When the remote control is in Allow Pairing mode, the activity indicator (the TiVo logo's
antennae on the TiVo button) slowly flashes. When the remote control successfully pairs with a
DVR, the activity indicator flashes quickly five times and then stops.
When you press buttons on the remote, the activity indicator flashes different colors to indicate
what kind of signal the remote is sending:
If the activity indicator flashes red, the remote is sending
IR commands to the DVR.
If the activity indicator flashes amber, the remote is paired
and is sending RF commands to the DVR.
NOTE: 6 Tuner TiVos can be paired with up to 10 remote controls.

Channel Control Lock
By default, the remote control’s channel-control capabilities are locked to the cable converter. The affected keys* are 1 through 0, CH+, CH-, and LAST. This will guarantee that you do not inadvertently change a channel on your TV or VCR. However, you can deactivate this feature to allow full access to these keys in the TV and VCR modes
*NOTE: This feature does not affect the AUD mode.
Unlocking Channel Control
On the remote control, press CBL once; it will blink once. Press and hold
SETUP until the CBL key blinks twice
Enter 9, 7, 3. The CBL key will blink
twice
Press CH- once. The CBL key will blink four

converter
Volume Lock
Volume Lock allows you to control the volume through the device identified as having your primary speaker(s), regardless of which mode you are using. On the Atlas
OCAP 5-Device Remote Control, Global Volume Lock is set to TV, so you can control TV volume while in the VCR, DVD, TV or CBL mode. You can perform Individual Volume Unlock on a selected device to set its volume control for independent operation.
NOTE: The audio mode’s (AUD) volume controls are active regardless of Volume Lock settings. However, if you lock the volume controls to the AUD mode, you will have control of the audio device’s volume in all other modes (i.e., VCR, DVD, TV, and CBL). This can be an advantage if, for example, you always listen to home entertainment devices through your receiver’s speakers.
Unlocking Volume Control for a Single Device (Individual Volume Unlock)
Assuming Global Volume Lock is active, select a mode on the remote control that you want to unlock (e.g.,
CBL) and press it once. Next, press and hold SETUP until the device key blinks
twice
Enter 9, 9, 3. The last-selected device key will blink
twice
Press VOL- once. The last-selected device key will blink four
times
Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each device you want volume to be
unlocked
Now, after you select a device that has volume unlocked (e.g., CBL), pressing
VOL+, VOL-,or MUTE, will control only that device’s volume.
Unlocking All Volume Control (Global Volume Unlock)
NOTE: Performing these instructions will set independent volume control for all programmed
devices.

twice
Enter 9, 9, 3. The last-selected device key will blink
twice
Press VOL+ once. The last-selected device key will blink four
times
Locking Volume Control To One Mode (Global Volume Lock)
NOTE: The audio mode’s volume controls are active regardless of Volume Lock settings. However, if you lock the volume controls to the AUD mode, you will control the audio device’s volume in all other modes (i.e., VCR, DVD, TV, or CBL). This can be an advantage if, for example, you always listen to home entertainment devices through your receiver’s speakers.
On the remote control, press and hold SETUP until the last-selected device key blinks
twice
Enter 9, 9, 3. The last-selected device key will blink
twice
Select a mode (e.g., TV or AUD) which you want to use to control the volume. The selected device key will blink
twice
Now, when you press VOL+, VOL-,or MUTE, the volume of the selected device (e.g.,
TV) is controlled regardless of mode
Cable ID Lock
The Atlas OCAP 5-Device Remote Control is locked at the factory to operate your cable provider’s set top box. However, if you have another brand or model of cable
converter or satellite service that you would like to control, then you’ll need to perform the following steps to unlock the ID Lock, enter a new manufacturer’s code, and lock the ID Lock again
Turn on the cable converter
On the remote control, press CBL once; it will blink once. Then press and hold
